Welcome to the Red Lion at Steeple Aston…

Situated high in the beautiful Oxfordshire village of Steeple Aston, with a majestic view of the Cherwell valley from the pretty floral sun-trap terrace, the Red Lion is a traditional, unspoilt  circa 18th century pub that provides a peaceful and relaxing eating and drinking experience.

Clearly signposted off the A4260 the pub is close to many attractions including Rousham Hall, Blenheim Palace, the historic town of Woodstock and the dreaming spires of Oxford. The famous Banbury Cross is also nearby, and Bicester Village Outlet Mall provides top brand labels at discount prices - the best shopping for miles.

The cosy bar has a log burner and is the perfect place to enjoy first class ales from local brewer Hook Norton, along with the occasional guest beer.   The wine list has a selection from around the world to suit all tastes and many wines are available by the glass or half litre carafe.

There is a network of public walks in the area with magnificent views, and the hostelry is a well known resting point for hungry and thirsty walkers as well as those holidaying on canal boats mooring at Heyford, just a mile away. Dogs on a lead are very welcome on the terrace and in the bar.

The french oak dining room is a recent, tasteful addition and has been built in a conservatory style. It is comfortably furnished and seats around 30.
